A space to slow down and breathe.
Therapy in Cincinnati, Ohio
Welcome
You’ve been holding a lot.
Trying to show up perfectly—for your children, in your relationships, and at work. Trying to get it right.
But it can feel heavy.
Maybe you’ve always made it work before, but it no longer feels sustainable.
Maybe you have nagging questions about choices you’ve made, a relationship, or your career.
On the outside, things might look okay, or even great. But inside, it feels more complicated.
My office is a place where you don’t have to keep holding it all together, a place where you don’t have to convince me that you’re “fine” and really shouldn’t be complaining in the first place. In therapy with me, you can begin to sort through what’s actually true for you, and figure out how to move in that direction.
I’m Delanie Isaacs, MA, LPCC (she/her), a therapist in Cincinnati with 20 years of experience. I work with people who are navigating significant transitions—whether that’s in relationships with others, or in the way they relate to themselves. My style is informal, direct, and genuine. I focus on helping you understand yourself in a way that opens up more choice and freedom in your life.
I see mindfulness and self-compassion as crucial therapeutic tools—not just to feeling better in the moment, but to exercising more agency in how you live life every day. I use EMDR when appropriate in service of defusing the emotional charge that persists from painful experiences. In every area of your life, I help you determine what skills you need to live the life you want to live, and support you in learning them.

Motherhood is a profound experience—and one that often challenges you like you’ve never been challenged before. It holds up a mirror to parents like few other experiences do. Unlike many endeavors, just trying harder doesn’t guarantee success. And what even is success in this context?!?
You think you’re pretty relaxed for the most part? Ha! You think you don’t really mind chaos and mess? Guess again. You aren’t really one to question or doubt your decisions? If only.
You love your children desperately, AND feel overwhelmed and depleted. You feel much angrier and more irritable than you could ever have imagined. Or you find yourself filled with longing for your old self, or curiosity about who your new self might turn out to be. Therapy gives you the tools you need to self-regulate in the moment with your children, so you’re not filled with regret once they’re asleep. Therapy offers space to figure out what you need to reconnect with yourself, not just as a parent, but as a whole person. And therapy helps you learn how to get those needs met.

You may be at a crossroads. You may be questioning whether your relationship feels good enough, and what good enough even means to you. You may be exhausted by multiple versions of what feels like the same relationship, but unsure of how to create something different. You may desperately miss the emotional generosity and affection you and your partner enjoyed in the past, but have no idea how to get it back. Together, we’ll look at what is working in your relationships, and what isn’t, and figure out what you need to move forward with intentionality. I’m sex-positive, kink-friendly, and experienced in working with individuals and couples of all sexualities and identities.
-
I love working with women with ADHD, especially those who are only just beginning to understand how much it has shaped their experiences in life. We’ll wade through any self-doubt, frustration, or shame you may be soaking in, and I’ll help you begin to relate to yourself with compassion and self-acceptance. I’ll support you in learning skills to work with your brain instead of against it.
-
People I work with are often incredibly insightful—and incredibly hard on themselves. Together, we work toward softening that inner voice, building self-compassion, and creating more room for clarity, flexibility, and meaningful change.
Areas of Expertise
My Offerings
Individual Therapy
A space to slow down and make sense of what’s happening internally—your thoughts, patterns, and relationships. We’ll approach things with honesty, curiosity, and self-compassion, without pressure to have it all figured out.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR helps process experiences that feel stuck or continue to impact you in the present. It allows your brain to rework those experiences so they feel less intense and more integrated.
Couples Therapy
A space to understand the patterns between you and how they’ve shifted over time—especially through parenthood. I take a direct, engaged approach to help you move toward more clarity and connection.

I don't accept insurance, but I do see many clients who use their insurance to see me by paying at the time of service, then submitting superbills (which I provide) for possible reimbursement from their insurance company. The amount of reimbursement depends upon your out-of-network mental health coverage, which you can ask your insurance company about.
-
When the weather is nice, I offer walk-and-talk sessions in the Pleasant Ridge neighborhood. These sessions involve walking side-by-side outdoors, which can feel more natural and less intense than sitting face-to-face.
Movement and bilateral stimulation can also support processing in a different way. These sessions are an option at times, but not something we would necessarily do every session.
-
I tend to be direct, engaged, and real in the room. I’m not a neutral observer—I’m actively helping you make sense of what’s happening and move toward something different.

You can reach out through the contact form or email me directly. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you reach out—just a general sense that you’d like support is enough.
